Alexa Traffic Rank is calculated based on 3 months of aggregated traffic data gathered from millions of its Toolbar users as well as several other diverse 3rd-party data sources, and is a combined calculation of page views and users or reach. Alexa computes the daily total pageviews and reach for all sites on the Internet, then bases the Alexa rank on a value obtained from these two quantities averaged over time (so that the Traffic Rank of each website reflects both the total number of visitors to that site as well as the total number of pages on the web site viewed by its users). Keep in mind all off Alexa’s statistics are approximates based on large user samples which are calculated and therefor estimates.
