This tutorial will show you how to set-up the ‘Rank Tracker’ to monitor how your website ranks for targeted keywords in relevant search engines.
When you first log-in to the SEOrankings member tools you’ll be taken to your ‘Site Dashboard.’
From there, you can click on the ‘Average Site Rankings’ box. Or select Rank Checker from the drop down menu.
Then click on the ‘Settings’ tab in the top right-hand corner.
With the ‘Keywords’ tab selected, select or enter the keywords you want to monitor.
On the left menu, click the ‘Search Engines’ tab.
Here you can select the most relevant search engines for your business. Since this website has an international audience, I’ll select Google, Yahoo and Bing – Global Search, Language English.
Next we’ll skip to the ‘Competitors’ tab. Then enter any competitor websites you want to monitor.
Now click on the ‘Advanced’ tab.
Here, you can set the tool to get location-based Google search results to show you the search positions one might see if they are searching from within your local area.
Then select any additional data you want displayed in your reports. Ticking the ‘Show number of monthly global searches’ will display the average number of times each keyword phrase is searched for on Google. Ticking the ‘Show number of competing URLs’ will display the total number webpages in Google’s index that also has the keyword phrase on it.
It should also be noted that once you’ve connected your Google Analytics account, you’ll be given the option to view the number visits to your website for each keyword. This is a really handy feature for seeing how well your keywords are performing.
Then click ‘Save.’
Now you should be on the Brief report page, and your rankings should update automatically for your current rankings.
There are several report types available, which you can select from the reports bar near the top.
You’re can also download, print, or email any of these reports by clicking on the ‘Export’ tab.
Filter the reports.
And scan for current keyword rankings, or schedule automatic scanning.
Once you’ve completed setting up your Rank Checker report, a summary of your ranking data will display on you Site Dashboard..
